Give Thanks!

We’re doing our Monday Inspiration a little different this week. We’d like to celebrate this Thanksgiving by sharing what we are thankful for in each other.

I am so thankful for my friendship with these amazing ladies! I love that they are both strong, kind, intelligent, driven women who seek God in everything. But what I really cherish is their differences! I am thankful that Patricia is my sweet and Nicole is my salty. Patricia is prepared and a planner and Nicole is a spontaneous, wild child. Patricia is sweet, empathetic, and nurturing and Nicole is my  bold, no nonsense, reality check. Patricia is reserved and pensive and Nicole is loud and goofy. Patricia is smart, funny, humble, and quick-witted (I love her one-liners!). Nicole is accomplished, thoughtful, giving, and a born leader (I love her confidence). I am so thankful that despite all our differences and although we all have a little bit of a control freak in us, we never struggle to lead or compete for our own way; instead, we use our individual strengths to work together in harmony. I am thankful for the differences that make us unique and that we embrace those differences and find the beauty in them. -Rachel

It’s hard to find good friends– I mean truly good friends. I’m so thankful for the amazing friendship of the two of the most beautiful women I know!

Nicole’s boldness inspires me to elevate my standards, her drive encourages me to grow and her imagination awakens my creativity. Her virtuous life inspires me to strive for excellence in all areas of my own. She is not afraid to tell me the truth, even when it’s hard, and I’m thankful for it. Nicole encourages me to celebrate life and she celebrates it right there with me!

Rachel’s beauty, style and laughter is contagious in every way. Her warmth and loving heart inspire me to lead a selfless life. She always makes me laugh and is always ready to listen and encourage. Rachel’s honesty, wit, and sensitivity have encouraged me during hard times and she has always been there for me. She is as real as they come and I’m very blessed to have her in my life!

I’ve known both my girls for some time now and I truly am grateful for them in my life. They not only love me for who I am, but encourage and believe in me in ways I cannot see sometimes.

To Rae, you beautiful gem. This is how I know we’re soul buddies! A rare but very loud gift that you once gave me that I’ll never forget… a foot scrubber. This makes me laugh every time I think about it, but to me it speaks loudly (if you know me then you know I LOVE to be bare foot thus the need for some home foot care, lol). It is a VERY honest gift and untraditional, but what I value most, honesty. You are a friend who doesn’t try for perfection but instead gives thoughtfulness and authenticity. Your love for the Lord, our loud laughs and your brave trust in me inspires and fills me with joy.

To my Patricia, you too are a beautiful gem to me. Sassy and sweet with a genuine love for the Lord. I love that you too trust me, that you trust me to pray for you and trust me for honesty. I see such an amazing woman in you, beautiful, smart and a heart for others. You are my wing woman and are willing to do and go wherever to minister with me! I love that you and I share such a passion for worship and the giving of it in our serving. I love the gentleness you bring and the sincere desires for others to experience Christ in worship. Thank you for never leaving me hanging and always being willing. Your empowerment and commitment to me inspires me!

It’s hard to find the right words to honor such precious women. The words above don’t even capture them properly. Thank you for all the fullness you both add to my life. You get me and you truly add value to my story. I’d like to finish with a scripture because this is how I feel when I look at us.

Ecclesiastes 4:12 New Living Translation (NLT)
“A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. Three are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken.”

Together we can do anything, believe and stand for anything! I am thankful for such friends as these! Women of God who know how to pray and worship like a boss!

-Nicole

We hope you take time to reflect on all that you have to be thankful for this holiday! Happy Thanksgiving!

Love,

Patricia, Nicole, & Rachel

beautifully written. And because i know the three of you, i am even more impressed with this. May this article show people the importance of having good friends in your life. I read a quote the other day that spoke of friends. She said as she has gotten older, the friends are fewer but truer. Here’s to true friends. Love you!
