“Comparison is the thief of joy.” – Theodore Roosevelt
We are all on a journey. Some of us are farther a long than others and some have gotten a better head start. But make no mistake, not one of us has arrived. Just because people seem to have the perfect life or perfect gifts or whatever doesn’t mean you know what is really going on in there lives. Some of the people who I thought had the most perfect marriages years later wound up in divorce. It doesn’t make any sense to compare yourself to others in anyway because you are not them, you haven’t lived the life they have, and you don’t know what they gone through to get where they are. I once heard someone say, “The grass is greenest where you water it the most. So stop looking at your neighbor’s yard and tend your own grass!”
All comparison does it get your eyes off of your path and trip you up from running YOUR race. The only person you should compare yourself to is the person you were yesterday and the person you want to be tomorrow. Keep your eyes on YOUR prize and run that race girl!
Run baby run,
